Yutong Yan
Artist
Hi everyone! My name is Yutong and I’m currently a student at HISHK. Ever since I can remember I’ve always loved to make art, and I’m so glad to say that over the years I have nurtured that passion and have carried on creating to this day. Using a variety of mediums such as oil, acrylic, alcohol markers, and coloured pencils, I mainly focus on capturing stories, emotions, and personal experiences through human portraiture of either myself, or those close around me. I love experimenting with lighting and colours in my works, trying various techniques to draw in the eye and tell a story through these interactions of elements.

Cathy Hu
My name’s Cathy and I’m a student from Hong Kong. Although my time spent on art has dwindled in the past year, my love for oil painting is something that’s irreplaceable. My work primarily features portraits; I’ve always been fascinated with the beauty of human features and the stories they can tell. Other things I love include collecting Smiskis, playing the piano, as well as curling up with a good book and some coffee :)

Chloe Lau
Artist
My paintings predominantly consist of self-portraits. I paint to decipher my relationship with the complexity and transience of humanity. By manifesting big philosophical questions into physical, audacious depictions of colour, my work exudes a sense of whimsy and wonder that brings the evocative subjects to life.

Michael Yiu
Photographer
Hi, I’m Michael and I go to HKIS. The theme of my photos are trying to capture the essence of a moment. My photos will always have to tell a story or invoke an emotion, whether it'd be a landscape photo, street photography, or something creative with light. I think that photos, although being frozen moments, can make viewers see things with different perspectives and find their own narratives within the image.
